Chloe Ke is a material science Ph.D. currently leading raw material sourcing, including lithium, for BYD from international suppliers. BYD is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electric vehicles and batteries. Since its establishment in 1995, BYD has become a global technology leader with 900,000 employees worldwide. In 2023, BYD delivered 3,024,000 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 68%, and the total battery sales volume reached 150.9 GWh. BYD’s operations now span over 90 countries and regions worldwide.

Previously, Chloe led the energy storage program at New Energy Nexus, investing in and incubating early-stage startups in EV and energy storage. She facilitated over 20 commercial transactions between startups and industry leaders like Hyundai, Kia, LG Energy Solution, and BP.

Before that, Chloe was a strategy consultant at the Rocky Mountain Institute, advising on energy planning and policy design. Her work has informed the White House on key U.S.-China climate policy decisions and China’s 13th Five-Year Plan. With a background in advanced solar cell research at the NREL, where she received the Materials Research Society Graduate Student Award, Chloe is committed to accelerating society’s transition to renewable energy—believing that large-scale manufacturing of innovative technologies is essential to this transformation.
