Teague Egan founded EnergyX in 2018 and is the acting Chairman and CEO. He is responsible for all aspects of building the company into a world leader in clean energy technologies, and specifically lithium production. His focus is on commercializing the LiTAS™ technology portfolio for direct lithium extraction and the company's SoLiS™ solid state lithium battery technology.



Teague’s background is one of serial entrepreneurship, investing, inventing, and philanthropy. He has been investing in public sector energy assets and sustainable technologies since 2013 with a flagship investment in Tesla. Prior to EnergyX, in 2010 he started an entertainment business with a record label highlighted by a #1 iTunes artist release. He's also the inventor of energyDNA – a patented multi-component graphene fiber technology. In 2012, Teague founded Innovation Factory VC, a venture capital fund focused on tech, life sciences, real estate, and consumer products.

Along with EnergyX's extensive ESG strategy, his philanthropic efforts are associated with the paralysis and education. He co-founder the Dance For Paralysis and the Reality Ride Challenge initiatives of the Thomas E. Smith Foundation, as well as The Kindness Project. Teague is an alumnus of University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business receiving his BA in Entrepreneurship, and went on to complete the Executive Program in exponential technology including artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, and nanotechnology at Singularity University.
