Mr. Vijayanand Samudrala is a senior member of the Corporate Management Council at Amara Raja Group. He
joined the company in 1992 and has been part of the Group's growth story for over the last 30 years. His recent
tenure was as CEO of Amara Raja Batteries Ltd., the flagship company of the Amara Raja Group.
Throughout his career, he’s held various positions in the organization, including business leadership, strategic
planning, new business development initiatives, tech. development, and project management, among others.
Mr. Samudrala is an active proponent of the adoption of new and emerging technologies in the field of E-Mobility,
Renewable Energy, and Advanced Energy Storage. He is also a national council member in the Confederation of
Indian Industry, the largest industry association in India, and has chaired various sub-committees on electric
mobility.
In terms of education, he obtained a Bachelors in Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from SVU College of
Engineering, Tirupati, and a Masters in Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of
Technology, Mumbai. He has also done the Executive Management course “General Management & Leadership
Development“ from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
Mr. Vijayanand Samudrala has received several accolades over the years for his contributions to the industry. Most
recently, he won the CXO of the Year Award - Energy Storage at the India Energy Storage Alliance's fifth annual
Industry Excellence Awards Ceremony in New Delhi in May 2022.
Currently, he is the President of Amara Raja Advanced Cell technologies, which is one of the leading companies in
the electric vehicle battery manufacturing space in India.
