In 1993, he joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (now the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry).
Since then, he has been involved in the planning and promotion of a wide range of policy areas, including small and medium enterprise policy, economic and industrial policy, industrial science and technology policy, energy policy, health and medical policy, and security policy.
He has also served as secretary to State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and then, been involved in trade and commerce negotiations as Counsellor (Economic Affairs) at the Embassy of Japan in Canada.
Since 2023, in his current position, he has been engaged in planning and promotion of commerce and information policy.
