Jason is Head of Public Policy in Equinor’s Washington, D.C. office. In this role, he leads federal policy and government relations efforts supporting the company's ambitions to be a leader in the energy transition and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. His portfolio focuses on broad legislative and regulatory issues affecting upstream oil and natural gas production and marketing, direct lithium extraction, and advancement of low carbon solutions technologies like CCS and clean hydrogen.

Jason has spent over 15 years in Washington advocating public policy and social license solutions from the perspective of discrete segments of the energy world. Prior to joining Equinor, he helped to shape and execute the federal, state, and local government relations strategy for Capital Power, an international utility-scale independent power producer. He has spent most of his career in the regulated, investor-owned utility sector, having worked in federal government affairs for both NiSource and Consumers Energy.

A Michigan native, Jason received his B.S. in Political Science from Grand Valley State University and M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
