Vikash Venkataramana leads the US Battery Business at REPT. With technology commercialization and product leadership background in renewable energy, Vikash's expertise, and experience is in scaling renewable energy technologies. Vikash comes with a proven track record of introducing new products and technologies both at startups and large organizations.
Before REPT, Vikash led the US energy storage division of Gotion. At Gotion in 2 years, Vikash built the company from 1 to 30 US employees, with over 2GWh shipments/yr and over 300million$ in revenue from 0. Prior to Gotion, Vikash led the product management teams at Enervenue commercializing a unique stationary battery storage technology developed at Stanford University, California. Before Enervenue, Vikash headed the US product and technology teams at Jinko Solar responsible for overseeing more than 8+ GW ($1.8B+ P&L) of Jinko solar product deployed in the US market. During his time at Jinko, US revenues grew 200+% YOY and the company was the largest solar module manufacturer by size globally. At Jinko, Vikash also led the definition and introduction of the energy storage products based on US market requirements. Before Jinko, Vikash was a Senior Product Manager at Hanwha Q Cells, responsible for introducing new products and technologies in the US market. At Q Cells, Vikash worked closely on product strategy driving the evolution of Q cells from a manufacturer also an energy services player in the US market. Before Q Cells, Vikash was the Product Manager for a metal 3D printing startup called Desktop Metal at Boston. This was after working for two different solar power companies (Sunrun and Sunpreme) in the bay area. At Sunrun, he was the Product Manager for the Home Energy Management product (smart home) and at Sunpreme he was the Product Manager for a bifacial solar cell-module product.
Vikash has a master's degree in Nanoscale Science and Technology from the University of Leeds, UK, and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of St Andrews in the UK. Vikash also has an MBA from the University of Texas.
