Asogan Moodaly is the Global Sector Lead for Automotive, Electronics and Machinery at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector financing arm of the World Bank. He leads the development and implementation of IFC’s global strategy in these sectors, which covers business origination, coordination of regional teams, financing and pre-investment project development. He is also IFC’s Manufacturing representative to the World Bank’s Resilient and Inclusive Supply-chain Enhancement (RISE) initiative, which aims to boost emerging markets’ participation in the critical minerals industry and improve global supply chain resilience. He has over 23 years of experience in the Energy and Finance sectors, working on various capital projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, ranging from sustainable aviation fuels to projects in the EV value chain.
Mr Moodaly holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, an MBA from the University of Witwatersrand, and is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is a South African national and is currently based in Washington, DC. He is passionate about innovation, sustainability, and social impact, and enjoys traveling, reading, and spending quality time with his family.
