Dr. Parvin (Parri) Adeli has over a decade of experience in battery technology and currently leads the Batteries Program at the Nickel Institute. She provides expert insights into the role of nickel in batteries across the entire value chain, while also keeping a close eye on emerging markets and next-generation battery technologies.
With a strong technical background and a passion for effective communication, Parri develops strategies to engage stakeholders and foster successful partnerships. She is a sought-after speaker and subject matter expert at battery metals conferences and industry working groups. She is the host of Battery Chats with Parri, an online interview series featuring industry leaders, and a regular contributor to Nickel Magazine and the Chronickels Blog. She also designed and moderated the Inaugural and Second Nickel Institute Battery Day events, which attracted over 1000 delegates from 70+ countries.
Before joining the Nickel Institute in 2020, Parri was a prestigious postdoctoral fellow at the National Research Council of Canada, where she focused on energy storage materials, particularly solid-state batteries, and composite electrolytes. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and has received numerous awards, including the Nickel Institute President’s Award, a Merit Scholarship from UW, and a Nanotechnology Fellowship from the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology. She has also authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed papers in leading battery science journals.
