Max Kushner-Lenhoff is the Head of Commercial at Mitra Chem, a leading innovator of iron-based battery cathode materials that avoid nickel and cobalt supply challenges. Mitra Chem has developed IRA-compliant lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) at its Mountain View, California R&D center, using its proprietary technology with AI capabilities that shortens lab-to-market time by 90%.
Max’s role at Mitra includes developing a resilient IRA-complaint supply chain and establishing scale-up and commercial partnerships in the power, energy storage and EV markets. Max joined Mitra from Tesla, where he served as Group Manager for Cathode Supply Chain, determining the supply chains for several critical battery materials while contributing significantly to the ramp-up of battery factories on three continents during his five-year tenure. Max previously worked in strategic planning in the CEO’s Office of Dow Chemical. He holds an MBA with honors from Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and an MS in Inorganic Chemistry from Yale.
