Abdelghani El-Kacimi serves as Chief Technology & Innovation Officer at INNOVX, the technology arm of OCP Group, where he leads the company’s technology strategy, driving innovation in green hydrogen, chemicals, agritechnology, industrial applications, and the creation of sovereign and sustainable tech ecosystems across Africa.
With over 30 years of experience in technology and innovation across Europe, the U.S., and Africa, Abdelghani has led a distinguished career at the crossroads of engineering, entrepreneurship, and industrial strategy.
Trained in microelectronics and wireless systems at Ruhr University Bochum in Germany, he held key technical and leadership positions at renowned global firms including Fraunhofer IIS, Texas Instruments, Infineon, and Monolithic Power Systems.
In 2008, he entered the world of entrepreneurship and digital transformation, joining itemis AG as a senior executive. Under his leadership, the company was awarded the “Top 100 Innovator Award” in 2019, recognizing it as one of Germany’s most innovative companies.
He later founded FotaHub Inc., a U.S.-based technology company focused on secure, silicon-independent Over-the-Air (OTA) platforms for connected devices and smart systems. Through FotaHub, he also backed the development of Shama, Morocco’s first humanoid robot, in collaboration with academic institutions, before joining INNOVX.
