Fernanda Avila graduated as a lawyer from the National University of Tucuman, Argentina, in 2009. She served as legal advisor for the Deliberative Council of Catamarca city, Argentina, and then as Office Director of the City Government.

In December 2019, she was appointed Chief Advisor to the Governor of Catamarca, and as Minister of Mining of the Province of Catamarca from August 2020 to December 2021, when she was appointed Secretary of Mining of Argentina. In December 2023 she took office as member of the national congress. She continues in that position to date.
Fernanda has a degree in “Social and Political Anthropology” and in “Design and Management of Public Policies” from the Latin American School of Social Sciences (FLACSO). In 2022, she joined the implementing countries constituency (ICC) of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) as a Board Alternate, representing the Latin America and Caribbean region.

Fernanda was choosen as one of the “Women of the Future’s 50 Rising Stars in ESG” in 2022.
