Jorge Riesco Valdivieso is a lawyer with a degree in Law granted by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the Universidad Gabriela Mistral.
He has been a member of SONAMI's General Council since 1990, serving as General Secretary of the Federation in four different periods. He has also been a member of SONAMI's Legal Commission and Labor Commission since 1990 and a member of the Labor Commission of the Confederation of Production and Commerce (CPC).
Furthermore, he has been a member of the board of ChileCalidad and the Commission of Unemployment Insurance Users on behalf of the CPC and has participated in various instances of tripartite dialogue, including working meetings and ILO Conferences.
He was Director of OTIC Proforma and Director of Empresa Nacional de Minería, ENAMI, appointed by SONAMI. He has chaired the Sectoral Body for Labor Competencies in Mining and is a member of SONAMI's Medium Mining Committee, also actively collaborating with the Small Mining Committee of this Trade Federation.
He is currently Vicepresident of the Board of ChileValora and President of the National Mining Society (SONAMI).
