Dr. Bill McPhee is responsible for BASF’s battery base metals business development in Asia Pacific including sourcing battery minerals for BASF’s global footprint and exploring strategic partnerships for vertical integration. He is also a member of the Research Implementation Advisory Committee of Future Battery Industries – Cooperative Research Centre FBI-CRC. Previously, Bill held various global business and marketing roles in precious metal and battery materials units in BASF since he joined the company in 2012. Prior to that, he was the technologists of several start-ups on electrochemical devices in the USA. Bill holds a doctorate degree in Metallurgy from the University of Queensland and completed his postdoc in Japan and the USA on fuel cell materials. He is originally from Brisbane and returned to Australia in 2020 having worked for over a decade overseas.
