Giga Europe Site Visits 

We are pleased to announce that Giga Europe will open with an option of two organised site visits on Monday 17th March, as a way to kick start your event networking.

MOBI is a large Electromobility research group at VUB, focussing on both technical and techno-economic and environmental research of electrified transportation and stationary energy storage. This includes advanced battery research, electric drivetrain components, charging stations and autonomous driving, as well as the LCA and TCO analysis.

The Battery Innovation Centre (BIC) specializes in advanced battery material characterization, cell development (coin, pouch), and smart battery systems with sensors. They also conduct electrical and thermal testing, creating data-driven models for performance, lifetime, and thermal behaviour, and validating BMS algorithms and thermal management systems.

The tour will be given by the senior management of BIC, however there are opportunities to meet the colleagues from the other related research labs.

Option Two - European Parliament 

REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED 

The visit to the European Parliament starts with a brief discussion / Q&A, about the EP and other EU institutions, the structures within the EP, and how Members work, within their Political Groups and within Committees. You will then have the opportunity to go to the public gallery of the Hemicycle (i.e. the chamber where Members vote), so guests can see and understand better everything that was discussed previously.

The field trips are free of charge. Attendees can select one field trip to join. Places are limited and being offered on a first come first served basis.
