Jonathan has been with Rio Tinto since 2020, he is the Director of External Affairs for Europe. He started his career in procurement at the European HQ of Toyota in 2006, after which he joined BASF in 2009 to lead their raw materials procurement in the Benelux. In 2013, he moved into Government Relations for BASF, focusing on Trade policy and sanctions. In 2017 he joined Essent, the Belgian-Dutch subsidiary of RWE, where he managed government relations in the Benelux. Jonathan has a degree in International Politics from the University of Antwerp and a Master in Global Management from UAMS
